HENGL wines have a THOUSAND YEAR tradition.
Actually even older, since Charles the Great,
in the 8th century, (795) set forth the terms and
conditions for production and serving of the young
wine in his famous "capitulare de vino".
The remnant of this law can be seen outside each heuriger -
the scrub hanging from a pole in front of each house.
From this "henging-outside-the house" (Busch-Hengler)
the occupation of a HENGLER was formed and later the family name.
